Many guests ask if I have any advice on getting from Montrose Airport to Telluride. I do. You can rent a car and drive or you can take a shuttle van service. I personally rent a car although you certainly don’t need one in Telluride.
Should you stay in Mountain Village or the town of Telluride? My personal opinion (and other people might feel differently) is this – They are really 2 different experiences. Mountain Village is (even though connected by the free Gondola) like its own town and reminds me of what you see at other western ski resorts.
What is the address and location of your condo? I have been coming to Telluride since 2000 and have stayed at many different places. We our located in what I believe to be the best location in Telluride – the Gondola Corridor. It is close to everything. This is why we bought our condo there.
Should you be concerned about altitude sickness? Some people do really have problems in Telluride. You are at 8750 feet in town. You are at 9545 in Mountain Village and some peaks on the mountain are 13,000 or so. I drink lots of water and no alcohol the first night I am there. I also
